10 Celebrities Who Love Dogs

While they may own lavish homes and cars and live their life in the public eye, when it comes to their pets, celebrities are just like us—they love their four-legged family members (and enjoy sharing their pet-friendly adventures on social media).

Here are 10 celebrities and professional athletes who share our love of man’s best friend.

  1. Hilary Duff

Recently in the headlines for her much-anticipated Lizzie McGuire reboot, Hilary Duff is a well-known dog lover. The Younger star frequently posts pictures on social media with her four-legged friends; she and partner Matthew Koma adopted a dog named Lucy (and even had her DNA tested—and had a “breed” reveal on Instagram—to announce that she’s a boxer, chow chow and Akita mix).

  1. Serena Williams

Many professional athletes are also dog lovers. Women’s tennis player Serena Williams is a devoted dog mama to her Yorkshire Terrier, Chip, who travels with Williams pretty much everywhere she goes.

  1. Chris Evans

When he’s not saving the world as Captain America, Chris Evans actually spends a great deal of time hanging with his four-legged sidekick—a rescue dog named Dodger. His Twitter account is full of adventures with his best bud, and he’s even shared videos of reunions with his pooch after they’ve been separated due to his filming schedule.

  1. Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner is both a dog and a book lover—and her golden retriever, Birdie, may just be the most well-read dog in the entertainment industry. Her Instagram series called Books with Birdie features Garner reading her favorite titles to her four-legged best friend, often as they snuggle together by the fireplace.

  1. Michael Phelps

Olympian Michael Phelps isn’t the only member of his family who’s in the public eye—his dogs Juno and Legend are also social media celebs (@msjunoandlegend), and are often shown playing—and swimming—with Phelps as well as his sons Boomer and Beckett.

  1. Chelsea Handler

Like many dog owners, comedienne Chelsea Handler treats her dogs—two Chow Chows named Bert and Bernice—as if they were her children. She keeps her Instagram updated on their many adventures, from trips to the park to cuddles on the couch.

  1. Tom Brady

The New England Patriots quarterback is a passionate dog lover. Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen share their home with rescue dogs Lua, Scooby, and Fluffy.

  1. Ariana Grande

A well-known supporter of dog rescue organizations—in 2017 she reportedly owned nine rescues—Ariana Grande is a serious dog lover who gives her numerous canine friends unique names ranging from Toulouse to Pignoli to Sirius.

  1. Carrie Underwood

Country singer Carrie Underwood has a special place in her heart for tiny dogs; she is frequently photographed with her four-legged children, Ace, a rat terrier, and Penny, a small daschund mix.

  1. Barack Obama

While many presidents have shared the White House with their four-legged family members, former president Barack Obama was always quick to share photos of what became some of the most famous first dogs, Bo and Sunny, both Portuguese Water Dogs.
